Aussie Rules

Guess what we are playing this term? We are playing an Australian game called Aussie Rules. Every Wednesday room 15 always plays it.

The equipment you need is a small stitched rugby ball, field and a goal post. This ball that you use for Aussie Rules is essential because you can’t play Aussie Rules without a ball.

If you bounce the rugby ball it is unpredictable because you don't know where the ball will go. The bouncing is awkward because when you bounce it, it go’s everywhere.

What I found frustrating was running and bouncing the ball at the same time.

Mya's swimming cool adventure

This is a movie of me going swimming.

Swimming

In the last two weeks room 15 went swimming at the G.I pools. Soon it was time to go swimming, me and my friends were so happy and excited. We were walking with room 17 to the pools. When we went in through the doors I smelled chlorine running in my nose. We dashed to the bathroom and quickly got ready, next we had a shower and waited for our turn. After Miss Garden shouted out “professional’s go in the pool”. I was so excited to go in the pool. Miss Garden said “go get your hair wet in the pool”. We jumped in the pool and big splashes went dashing in my faces. For starter we practised kicking and making circles with our arms and pointy hands. It was time to have a race, I was racing Jouan. As soon as Miss Garden pointed at us I quickly kicked my feet in the water and hoped I would win. I got really tired but I couldn't stop yet. I used my arms to speed up and I won I said to myself “i never thought that I could win”. I was so tired after that. Luckily it’s my favorite part, diving in the pool. Sometimes it’s hard for some people because they always forget to bend down and jump. Sometimes I forget too. When Miss Garden tapped my shoulder I dived in and I swam as fast as I could. After that it was time to get out of the pool, I went to get my stuff so I could get changed and brush my hair. I was making sure that I didn’t slip. As soon as I got in the ladies room I got changed very fast. I brushed my hair fast as I can so I could catch up with my class. When I was in the pool I felt like I was in space because every time you jump you land slowly on the ground.

Holiday highlight

In the holidays my sister and I went the movies to watch Tangled. My sister and I got our snacks and drinks for the movie. As soon as we got there we chose a seat to sit on. When the movie started It started loudly and it was a little sad when the Queen was sick. It was still sad when the evil witch stole Rapunsal for her hair, so It can make her younger. When she cuts Rapunsal’s hair it turned brown.

Tower Building

On the first day of term two we were learning about Bigger, Better, Stronger, Faster. All of the teachers dress up funny every term.

So Room 15 and Room 14 split classes. When my group went to room 14 we were watching a clip called Ellen. It was about 4 kids inventing something to make things fair. After the video was done we had to name invention's that other people had made.

Next it was time for morning tea. When the bell rang we lined up and it was time to get creative in room 15. We were making paper towers with Mr Marks.

Playing Baseball

Every Thursday Rm 15 goes to play Baseball with Cola at the bottom field. Before we played Cola was sorting out our groups, Team Cola and Pepsi. Team Cola went fielding first, team Pepsi was batting first.

We were having fun in the sun, running around, having home runs, cheering and catching. Soon it was almost my turn and I was nervous. When I hit the ball I ran as fast as I could to base 1.

When it was someone else's turn to hit the ball I ran again to base 2 and 3 but I almost got to the home base, but not quite. When someone hit the ball I ran to home base and I almost got tagged by the ball. I almost slipped over when I was running, that would be super embarrassing.

Christchurch Earthquake

When the Earthquake happened all of the buildings in Christchurch were Demolished.
After a huge earthquake everybody was homeless
As the after the shocks kept coming every hour the building slowly turn into rubbel.
It was tragic and sad when the Earthquake struck in christchurch.
All of the pepole evacuate from buidings in Christchurch.
Most pepole in christchurch was doing search and rescueing lots of pepole inside the bulidings.
Many pepole were heart broken.
