Future Aspirations

On the 26th of november we had special guests attend our intermediate. The people who came were Andrew Patterson, Anthony Samuels, Paula Fakalata and Amelia Nufe.

Anthony Samuels speech was about “To miharo hoki” that means “You are awesome” He was telling us about his past when he was producing What now, he was doing that job for a very long time! Mr Samuels also said to believe that you are awesome so you can be awesome and never let your past defeat you future.

Paula Fakalata was talking about how people laugh when he says his name because his name sounds like “Ebola”. When he was younger his teachers would always mispronounce his name. He asked us “which story do you want hear, the story where I almost died or the story where I almost made it.” “THE STORY WHERE YOU ALMOST DIED!!!” shouted everyone. He then told us about a story where he almost drowned.

Amelia nufe’s dream is to have her own clothing line. When she was younger people would always judge her because her brothers are in gangs, they would always think that she’ll follow their tracks and drop out. Amelia is now in university studying fashion, in her class she gets assignments to design clothes for events.

Teen pop star sensation, lorde has done it again! Lordes team had sold 2 million copies in USA today. Her hit song team made it to number 1 on the billboard of adult pop songs. It has passed many successful singers like Katy perry, Pharrell Williams, Miley cyrus, Beyonce and many more!

Her debut album The love club was the best selling album on the market. Her song Royals made it to the top of the top charts in itunes. She has been nominated 4 times at the 2013 grammy awards. She eventually won 2 awards. The total times she's been nominated for was 48. throughout the nominations she has gotten 9 awards.

Her real name is Ella marija lani yelich- O connor. She was born in Takapuna, auckland on the 7th of november 1996 (17 yrs old). She was raised in devonport new zealand by her mother Sonja yelich and her father Vic o’connor. She has three siblings. A older sister named jerry, a younger brother and younger sister named Angelo and India. Did you know lordes mother is a poem writer?
She is a huge inspiration to many teens in new zealand, USA and many other countries around the world. She is my idol because she is different to many other singers. Ans mostly because she is born in auckland!

Rachel Smalley

Rachel Smalley is a newstalk ZB. She has been in the news lately because she said something in her mic during a tv break, she thought her mic was off. So now people think different about her because she said that.

So she said something rude about kiwi women. The things she said in the mic were and I quote “That NZ women's average weight of 72kg makes them 'a bunch of lardos” Her comment has upset many women around NZ. She admits that she left the mic on but her convo was meant to be off air.

She soon made an apology on air to all women she upset. She said “ “I deeply regret the comments. My comments were offensive. I'm sorry. It was a genuine mistake. " She bursted out crying while her live talk.

Many people say “Why should she apologize!? If she believes women over 72kg are heifers and lardos why should she say sorry!” Well I think she should apologize because she said something bad about many other women. She should think about putting herself in their shoes.

My teeth start chattering “I'm bundled up in 3 blankets and I'm still freezing!” I say repeatedly. . I hear the wind howling, soaring and crickets outside suddenly a big gust of wind sends my curtain up touching my ceiling revealing the bright moon. “UGH my window's open, I'm too cold and too lazy to handle this.” My body feels stiff , it feels like its going to break.

Emily wants to go to the shopping mall with her older sister (laura)
but Laura says no because Emily is too young and embarrassed by her acts.
“Im going to the mall Mum!” shouted Laura with a smile “Ok honey just be back by 3:00’ answered Mum, “OH MY GOODNESS can I come!! said Emily. Umm no thanks I don't want my friends to see you loser”. Emily clenched her fists and started turning red with rage she stomped as hard as she can.“THIS IS SO UNFAIR! YOU AND YOUR LOSER FRIENDS ALWAYS DO NOTHING!!! I'M WAY MORE COOLER THAN YOU!!, AT LEAST I PLAY AROUND WITH MY FRIENDS INSTEAD OF YOU GUYS, YOU GUYS SPEND YOUR TIME ON THE PHONE WITH YOUR FRIENDS!!! “shouted Emily. “Emily can you keep your voice down your baby brother is sleeping. said her mother while she was sitting on the chair watching her son for safety,“No one ever listens to me!” shouted emily. Emily kicks her bathroom door open and cries in the corner.

NERVOUS
My heart Is pounding with fear, my legs start trembling while I walk towards the stage, If I make a mistake everyone will laugh.. Finally on the stage it felt like I had just climbed the wall of china.
“t-t-to-to-th-th-the” I stutter while saying my first word into the microphone. My palms start to sweat, my audience starts making snoring sounds. I'm embarrassed, I run ofF the stage and into the bathroom tears start running down my red face Locking the bathroom doors and windows covering my eyes with embarrassment. While i'm crying I think of all the opportunities that I will miss so with bravery I stood Up flung the door open and went back on stage. The audience were confused because they thought I wouldn't last. But I came back and finished my speech just then I heard cheering and clapping I was proud of myself.

EXCITED
“Oh hey Uncle” while holding the phone, “Hey Tame what are you doing today “Oh nothing much just lying around and cleaning the house why do you ask uncle” Oh it’s nothing you wouldn't be interested” “Interested in what?” “Fishing, of course im a seafood person shouted his uncle. FRUSTRATED
“Hello? Its Lauryn  yeah Its been forever!” “LALALALALALALALALALALALA” Emma sings while banging Lauryn's door. “Ugh! hold on kaitlyn, Emma you lost child be quiet! Emma continues singing, but louder! “ Sorry kaitlynn its my little sister being a giant pest, yeah yeah my little sister isn't like you're little brother!” Lauryn starts to get a headache from emmas singing. “MUM!!! Can you tell Emma to be quiet!” “ Emma be quiet!”
“Yeah...nah” Emma whispered, she continues to be a pest. “Lauryn starts getting mad but she starts to calm down “MUM!” “Emma can you please stop! youre sister is trying to study!! ” “I dont care!” Thats it you're grounded!” “thanks mum” she chuckles.

The Waikato River.

In New zealand we have many long rivers like the clutha river, whanganui and many more.
But the waikato river is the longest river in New zealand, running through the north island. The name Waikato comes from the Māori language, it means flowing water. Waikato River flowed from Lake Huka (the ancient lake) in the centre of the North Island.

The Point England Way.

The Pt england way is our main quote, besides better together and tiaki taonga. it means to be kind, safe, happy and to learn. Its a way to say that we always do the right thing!

it was created in 2001, which was about..13 years ago! Miss meleisa helped alot with writing that quote. many other teachers that I don’t know helped to write the quote.

The purpose of it is to always do the right thing, like chucking your trash in the bin, treating everyone with respect and playing in the right place. It helps everyone learn, behave and it makes everyone happy.
